NUTS 3 is the finest level Eurostat publishes - over 1,100 small regions across Europe. Differences between regions of one country are often larger than differences between countries.
"Regions" is the number of regions with a value in the latest period. Not every indicator is
published for every country, and not every country is split equally finely.
