About this map

The map uses the Miller cylindrical projection - the familiar look of wall atlases and web maps. Like every flat map of the globe it distorts sizes: countries far from the equator (Greenland, Russia, Canada) look larger than they are.

Borders from Natural Earth, simplified for a map of the whole world. Territories without World Bank data (for example Taiwan and several small dependencies) are shown without a link. The map does not take a position on disputed borders.
